First blog! (yay)
Welcome to my blog!
I’ve created this space to revive an old dream of writing about my passions; photography, history, travel, and writing; including EDC reviews, life updates, nature, and all things creepy and mysterious which include horror and sci-fi movies/series, with my own unique personal sociological perspective. Prepare yourself for an exhilarating adventure as you explore my blog and reviews and allow yourself to be transcended to realms you’ve never been before.
So why starcovered?
Because everything else great was already taken. But seriously, everything I came up with, was either taken or for sale for an absurdly high amount of money. I was disappointed to see my first choice domain being taken but they didn’t do anything with it, yet.
I was able to contact the owner, but she wanted 750€-1000€ for it. Mind you, she paid around 11€ for one year of that domain and she registered it in October 2023. Purely to sell it for 90 times the price! Crazy! I offered 100€, which I thought was more than generous. I’ve never heard a peep from her again, by no surprise there. It piss me off on high levels, however, that made me work and research even harder for an even better domain name! A few days after “domaingate” happened, I found starcovered and ran with it.
We live in a world with over 1 billion websites. With so many websites, the most creative and awesome domains are often taken. Buying a domain yourself takes creative thinking and sometimes settling for a longer domain name or simply not having the .com extension. I wanted a short domain name with a .com extension, so I had to be smart and imaginative to find one I’d be happy with.
Thus, starcovered was born. When I saw it was available, I registered it immediately! I now like it even better than my first choice, perhaps because I had to sit on it for a while and find inspiration.
No, starcovered does not mean covering “star”; celebrity news! It means covered in stars. As a huge horror and sci-fi fan, I wanted a domain name to reflect that passion. Research shows most bloggers advise using a domain connected to your niche, or your name.
But I don’t want to only write reviews. I want to explore various topics that I find intesting and worth sharing. And that is how I envisioned starcovered and that’s the approach I will take on this new adventure.
